In a world where everything seems to demand one's constant and instantaneous attention, we often forget to pause and take in
the magical sights and quiet sounds of this planet.  This planet that is alive with rhythm and beauty.
Tonalist painters nudge us ever so gently to slow our pace, to be present and aware....to breathe in and envelop the last light
of day, or the brooding sky just before a storm.
Painting in the Tonalist tradition allows the emotion I feel within to unfold on the canvas
...sometimes as just a whisper.
Alexander Wyant, George Inness, J Frances Murphy and Whistler were tonalist painters who did just that.
